eJPTv3 — Junior Penetration Tester
eJPTv3 was my first practical offensive-security certification. There are no multiple-choice questions: you attack a lab network and answer based on what you find.
What I learned
- Networking and host discovery: mapping a network and finding what is alive and what is exposed.
- Enumeration of services with Nmap and related tools, and why careful enumeration decides how fast you move later.
- Vulnerability assessment and exploitation basics using Metasploit, plus the manual checks behind them.
- Web and password attack fundamentals, and how to document findings clearly.
Why it matters to my work
It built the foundation for everything that came after, eCPPTv3 and CRTP included, and gave me the habit of enumerating thoroughly before touching anything.
